Reality is merely an illusion,
albeit a very persistent one.

Prosecutor: So you looked at the tree and it was standing upright and alive?

Me: I believe so.

Prosecutor: And when you looked again, the tree was laying on the ground?

Me: That was my observation.

Prosecutor: So in that time between when you saw the tree standing and when you saw the tree on the ground, the tree must have fallen?

Me: I have no idea. I can see where you’d make that assumption, but I’m not at liberty to be so slovenly in my thought habits.
