You might not knowingly pour carcinogenic weed-killer over your children’s breakfast cereal, but the food companies spared you that decision by adding the recommended daily allowance of poison for you. Pretty thoughtful of them to simplify your morning routine, assuming you only want the worst for your kids. Are we to suppose that the makers of children’s foods containing weedkiller don’t know it’s in there? Or that honest and upright consumer protection agencies failed to spot it? Or are we to suppose that there are other factors that justify fortifying your kid’s frosted sugarbombs with non-essential toxins?
