A ship in port is safe, but that
is not what ships are built for.John Shedd
We are all afloat on the great ocean of nothing forever, but we deny it by roping off a section and pretending it’s a safe-swim zone in which course and speed seem to matter, meaning and purpose appear to exist, and where the illusion selfhood can pass for real. The truth, however, is that we dwell on a shoreless sea where speed and direction make no difference, where there can be no meaning or purpose, and where true self is no-self.
