Nonduality Is Dead

(audio available for paid subscribers)

The tree is more than first a seed, then a stem,
then a living trunk, and then dead timber.
The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky.

Nonduality is dead. It’s really pretty obvious when you think about it – most things are – but this is something I’ve managed not to think about. I’m somewhat conflicted about this; on the one hand I’m reluctant to make so bold a pronouncement, on the other, it’s long overdue. The death of authentic nonduality has long been both impossible and inevitable. Nonduality is about truth, which can never die, but which poses an existential threat to the dreamstate (on a case-by-case rather than herd-wide basis), so in order for the show to go on – as, we’re told, it must – nonduality must be defeated. It really died years ago but I’ve been a little slow on the uptake.
