Personal pattern and universal pattern are the same thing because self and environment — you and your dreamstate universe —  are the same thing, and despite appearances, you are alone in your own private universe.

Your environment seems external until you dissolve the egoic barrier and see that self and other are one thing, not two. That realization marks the boundary between the segregated and integrated states, and that’s what you discover when you stop following the herd and start traveling your own path. If you want to be a lawyer or a musician or a gymnast, your path is neatly laid out for you by Mother Herd, but if you want to go your own way, you have to find your own way.
