The Inner Unknown

(audio included for paid subscribers)

Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied
in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser
it is. At all counts, it forms an unconscious snag, thwarting
our most well-meant intentions.

The Human Machine

To operate in the dreamstate is to participate in the relentless, recursive loop of a self/other exchange. Strip away psychological distortion and sentimentality, and human existence resolves into a tripartite flow of sensory inputs, mysterious internal processing, and behavioral outputs. We perceive the data entering the system, and we behold the behavioral outputs projected back into the environment, but the internal processing mechanism is hidden and largely incomprehensible; a black box in which we know not what takes place. Self is a mystery even to itself, meaning that you are a mystery, even to you.
