My assumption as author about you as reader is that you have glimpsed the impossibility of duality. This glimpse – the initial nondual insight – is just the first shaft of light piercing the sleeping mind; more may flood in, or you may go back to sleep, but right now, I assume, you’re experiencing heightened alertness and a splinter in your brain. If you’ve spent your life in darkness, a sudden burst of light is a pretty big deal; not much in itself, maybe, but this insight is eye-opening and teases the possibility of a reality beyond this one. It is unfathomable to me that anyone could glimpse truth for themselves and just roll over and go back to sleep, but Maya is nothing if not unfathomable. The path to awakening is hard, but the way back to sleep is easy.
