"Speed is irrelevant if you are going in the wrong direction."

Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948), born Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was an Indian lawyer, political leader, and social reformer who became the foremost leader of India’s struggle for independence from British rule. He is best known for pioneering the philosophy and strategy of nonviolent resistance (Satyagraha), which inspired civil rights movements around the world. Gandhi emphasized truth, simplicity, self-discipline, and communal harmony. He led mass campaigns such as the Salt March and Quit India Movement. Revered as the “Father of the Nation” in India, Gandhi was assassinated in 1948 by a Hindu nationalist opposed to his message of tolerance.
