Long before you get to the stage of killing the Buddha, you will come face to face with the need to kill the guru. All your gurus, actually, and teachers and parents and role models and angels and demons and friends and enemies and positive and negative influences and anyone else who plays a significant role in your formation and elevation. They are all tools. You don’t carry them with you. You pick them up when you need them, use them as needed, and throw them away.
