Going Solo

(audio available for paid subscribers)

None but ourselves can free our minds.

I’ve never had much business with gurus or spiritual teachers or any other members of the priestcraft community. I’ve always assumed them to be the minions of Maya, usually unwitting, and I’ve never had much cause to revisit that assumption. It’s not that spiritual teachers in general and nonduality teachers in particular are bad at what they do, but that what they do has nothing to do with delivering their flocks from delusion. Quite the opposite in fact; always the opposite. Happily, a teacher is not required for awakening, only for resisting our natural tendency to achieve neutral buoyancy. Waking up is a solo journey in which you must travel light and fast, secure in the knowledge that you’ll always find what you need when you need it, and dump it when you’re done with it.
