Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts
and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.Shakespeare, Macbeth
If you’re in a prison cell or a wheelchair or a cancer ward, what are the real chances that you can make the journey of awakening in or from the dreamstate? As good as any, I would say. Maybe better, who knows. You never know the odds until they collapse from infinite possibility to a few probabilities and eventually to a single certainty. Until then, every day is anything-can-happen day. The awakening process, once begun, is totally outside of our control. You may (appear to) play a role in getting things started, and you might (appear to) be doing that right now, but once you’ve taken that last step in one paradigm and first in another, you are plunged into freefall and the illusion of control becomes a thing of the past.
