In The Mahabharata, when asked by Dharma, “What is madness?” Yudhishthira responds, “A forgotten way.” It is the nature of true absolution – not the priestcraft variety – that it is instant and absolute. Turn on the light and the darkness disappears. What memory do we retain of the dark? What memory does the butterfly retain of the caterpillar?
